This weekend is going to see a lot going on in Germany. In Hamburg the Plan B team will be showing up for a demo with what looks to be the entire team (Danny Way, Ryan Scheckler, P J Ladd, Colin McKay etc.) - it’ll cost you 4 Euros to get in to see the show. The Quiksilver Bowlrider tour is stopping over in Hagen (check the skate map for more) for the next competition to see who gets a ticket for the grand final in Malmö, Sweden on June 7th.
Hagen Pool - Hagen, Germany
This is where one of the Quiksilver Bowlrider contests is going/has gone down in 2007. It’s a new pool and it has old-school quality! It looks nice and deep (finally, a real pool!) and has a deathbox, some stairs and a loveseat.

You’re supposed to drive to Hagen-Haspe (see the skate map) and then it’s close to the main train station: just ask about the pool, everybody should know about it.
Hypnoz skatepark in Blaye les Mines, France
Found this nice looking bowl landscape just now which also has a covered street area with a halfpipe and mini-ramp…definitely looks like a good place to stop over. It has a lot of activities to offer other than just skateboarding, just have a look at their website.
Opening times are from 11 to 19 o’clock and on Thursday evenings you can skate late as well! It costs 5 Euros to skate.

Quite a large warehouse they seem to have in Lyon which is stuffed full of just about everything you need in a park (no pool though - can’t have everything!).- pyramids
- lots of banks and quarters
- mini ramps with a spine
- nice big halfpipe with extensions on it

Marseille Skatepark, France
Well, do i really have to say much about this park? It is THE concrete park from the first hour in Europe which has attracted so many great skaters from around the world to have fun, chill and compete in competitions like the Quiksilver Bowlriders comps.
You have to go there to know what I am talking about. You’ll be hooked in around, say 2 minutes! So many different lines are possible so it doesn’t matter what level you are at - just skate it!
To find the park, take a look at our skatespot finder and look for Plages de la Vielle Chapelle when you are in Marseille. It’s right on the beach, about 50 yards from the ocean!
From any place in Marseille, take the subway to the “ROND POINT DU PRADO” station, once you get there, get out, and take the n°19 bus at the bus station (map n°3,the “M” indicates the subway’s station output)…stop at the “vieille chapelle” station, you’re done!

Nice skatepark mapper found
This one is looking well nice: it’s called Skatespotter and the users can submit a skatespot and win a free deck! The site has some nice graphics to it and and easy usability factor. I’ll sign up and send in a skate spot today. Sure is a good idea - might have to do the same for our site. But we don’t want to be stealing their ideas so do give their site a look and support their good work!Sometimes I just fall behind all of the events going on but they will eventually arrive back here. That also goes for the Globe and Thrasher sponsored “Money for Blood” three day event on Austrlia’s Gold Coast with 50,000 dollars prize money being thrown around. You can catch what went on in those mayhem days right here
Do Guy Mariano tricks 10 years later, win 1000 bucks!
Yeah, you are reading that one right. I just came across this contest from Sublimited who is holding a contest to see who can best re-create Guy Mariano’s legendary part from Girl’s Mouse video. The prize money is coming straight from Joshua Steimie’s own pockets. It is quite a feat to beat becouse according to Altered Skateboarding site (which shows a list of all of the tricks and lines by the way) there are 41 clips (13 of which are lines) to film. If you can do all of this you probably are sponsored already, but what the heck…it’s like a game of SKATE right? Here’s the video for ya:European team tours, Quiksilver Bowlriders and Protec Pool Party
So, let’s continue with what is currently going on around Europe:- several teams from the US are flying over to do demos and film for upcoming videos. DVS Shoes (from May 24th till June 3rd) and Ezekiel (Ezekiel is already travelling around Europe right now till May 21st) are shredding through Europe yet again. Plan B as mentioned in one of our updates will be in Hamburg, Germany on May 26th…I still haven’t found out where else they are going to be, sorry! Maybe someone can help me out on this one…

Can’t help to sometimes go a bit international when it comes to big contests. The third annual Pro-tec Pool Party went down last Sunday and it must have been a blast when pro skaters like Bucky Lasek say “That was the best contest I was in and couldn’t skate in…it was the best contest I ever watched.“. Here are the results:
Women
1. Carabeth Burnside
2. Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins
3. Mimi Knoop
4. Julie Kindstrand
5. Jodi McDonald
Masters
1. Chris Miller
2. Lance Mountain
3. Steve Caballero
4. Duane Peters
5. Steve Alba
Pro Men

To get the whole story go over to Transworld Skateboarding’s site
And I can’t stop now without giving you all an update on what is happening with the Quiksilver Bowlriders Competition:
There are 5 more stops on the tour left before the grand final in Malmö on June 7th -10th 2007:
May 19th: London (UK)
May 19th: Seattle (USA)
May 26th: Hagen (Germany)
May 27th: Hard (Austria)
June 2nd: Lausanne (Switzerland)
Damn, they keep getting younger!
This is just too good to not spread it around…Curren Caples - 11 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The Works Skatepark, Leeds, England
