In cause you are not informed, Ali had a motorcycle accident with fellow skater Shane Cross who tragically died due to his injuries. I had trouble finding this park so I am pretty sure the park is just around the spot where I put it on the map…as always, if you have better information, let me know!
Check the “European Skateparks” tab to see where the park is located…
Picking up on my spanish to find the skate parks!
June 28th, 2007 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young
It is a lot more work than one would imagine to actually find the parks and especially to get the exact addresses and that in spanish! Well, no excuse for me. My mom is spanish and I used to be able to speak the language but I’m getting old and rusty so I am combing through the cobwebs and reading the dictionary. New words for today:
un bordillo: the curb
encerado: waxed (I think that’s what it means!)
And to make sure the right people get the respect that is due, here are the websites I am going through to get the spots, so go and check their sites out as well if you are planning a Spain trip:
Inseguridad.org
e-skate.net
skateradikal.spymac.comÂ
So I’ll carry on with adding in those parks – it sure is a good way to get your mouth watering early in the morning, seeing all these good places to skate!
Skatepark Algorta, Spain

This is pool that has brought forth quite a few good skaters and is known throughout Europe. It gets toured by contest series and skaters alike. Located right on the Arrigunaga beach in the Abra Bay of Bilbao, Spain you skate among the castle ruins and look out to the sea…we will meet some day my friend and you will face my slappy grinds *grin*
Granollers, Spain pools and mini-ramps close to Barcelona
June 27th, 2007 / 4 Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Nice looking 17 year old park with two pools, one of them kidney shaped and a double-pool with shallow and deep-end. Two concrete mini-ramps stand back to back with a spine connecting them.
The park is close to the Granollers bus station in Granollers, around 40 kilometers from Barcelona. Take the RENFE train from Estacio Sants to Granollers Centre. From the train station take the first right on the main boulvard (thanks to Andy Tucker for the updated info!). You should bring a broom to seep out the flat!
Getting Spain on the skateboard map

That’s right, I am going to get as many Spanish parks as I can find in the next few days into our Skatepark Finder area to get that area growing so stay tuned here as I churn out the information. I’ve decided on keeping the information short and to the point in order to get more sites in here.
If you have more information or pictures from a park or spot, please get in contact with me. I’ll update the area and let the people out there know you helped out!
