Aberdare skatepark in Wales!
If you want to stay up-to-date with skateboarding news in Europe and around the world, then subscribe now to the Europeskate RSS feed by clicking this link!. Thanks for visiting!
This is the first park out of Wales to get in here and I am real happy to put it in. I used to live for three years in Swansea, Wales and it was hard to find something good to skate unless you were a street skater.
They have a great looking concrete pool area plus a street area on top that makes me want to get over there to visit my relatives again! Make sure you check it out if you are over in Wales, looks like a good weekend trip…remember the weather guys, it is Wales so be ready for rain! For more info hit the park’s website which is up-to-date!
Here’s the map, hope I got the spot right - if not, I bet just about everyone in that town knows about the park!:

Little Sista Skateboard Cup in Leipzig, Germany - August 11th
Yet another skateboard contest going on August 11th in Leipzig, Germany at the Conne Island skatepark. This is the 12th time this contest is being held and over 3000 Euros in prizes from loads of companies will be given to the best riders in three different groups.
Jart Skateboards “Now or Never” video will be shown as well in evening along with a barbecue and bands playing as well. There’s a street area and a miniramp lanscape which looks pretty cool. The whole area is situated in a “mini forest” in the middle of town - sounds cool to me!
Here’s the place to go in Leipzig:

World Championship of Skateboarding, Rotterdam 2007 - the results!
A couple of happy looking guys in the picture above and understandably so. Rune Glifberg is the vert skater yet again who took the win at the WSR 2007 in Rotterdam, going from 5th in the semi-finals to 1st place all round . A tough field to beat and he goes home with $7500 in his pockets. He’s on a roll at the moment, I think this is his 4th contest win in a row (tell me if I’m wrong on this!).
Here are the results:
1 Rune Glifberg, 33 (US)
2 Sandro Dias (BRA)
3 Neal Hendrix, 33 (US)
4 Renton Millar, 32 (AUS)

7 Trevor Ward, 29 (AUS)
8 Sam Beckett, 15 (UK)
9 Nicky Guerrero, 39 (DK)
10 Sascha Muller, 29, (GER)
And the line-up of skaters for the street event was amazing to say the least and at the end of the day, Arto Saari came back to win the contest and cash in on $20000.
Here are the results for the WSR street contest:
01. Arto Saari, 25 (USA)

Tune Of The Day: The Bronx
To make it easy for myself: I love this band! Heavy punk riffs, hardcore and lyrics mixed at ease with a good piece of rock n’ roll, clear “screaming”/singing and a groove that will get you dancing, skating or whatever at a faster pace.
This four man band was founded in 2002 in Los Angeles, California , signing quickly to Island Def Jam Records with only 12 concerts under their belt. They toured heavily in Europe, The United States and Australia and , from what I read, have gathered a large following…where the fuck was I at then?
The Bronx have released two self-titled albums and I am listening currently to the newest one, my favorite song being “Shitty future” - I want to see these guys live!

Area51 skatepark in Eindhoven, Holland
The new Area51 skatepark is located in the center of Eindhoven and it is an amazing skatepark. The entire floor is built on wood so the ridfe is extremely smooth. A large bowl which was the scene for the Globe Bowlbash finals 2006 is certainly one of the main reasons to go there but there is something for everybody here.
A mini-ramp which is around 15 meters wide and a little under 2 meters high with a spine, hip and an elevator around a corner. A super mini-ramp is there as well plus a street area which will make any skaters mouth water.
It costs 5 Euros to get in and they are open every day of the week until at least 10 in the evening. This is a “must visit” skatepark!!
Here’s the map, the park is located in the Beukelaan street in Eindhoven. You’ll find it! To get more info visit the Area51 skatepark website here…

Westblaak skatepark in Rotterdam, Holland
This skatepark opened to the public back in November 2000. It is located in the city center and is 6700 square meters large. It has everything you want as a skater (street area, mini-ramp and a large halfpipe!), made of solid steel and open for free from 12 till 10 in the evening, on the weekends until 7:30
Here’s the map for ya:

New skatepark in Frauenfeld, Switzerland
And yet another park out of the bowl construction AG blueprints and this one is located in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. The park was built on an area of over 1500 square meters and they got it up in just under 2 months building time. From the looks I would say it be a good one, anybody out there been there yet? Well okay, it was opened to the public just yesterday.
Take a look at the map below to get there:

SwiftFooted internet magazine, check it out!
Ahh, the good old internet is just a fantastic place to find stuff one has never heard of before. I just came across the SwiftFooted site with an online skateboard magazine in Flash format so you can flip through the mag - nice use of the Flash effect which has been used in so many places just wrong!
A very appealing mix of good pictures, well written articles and some advertising make this mag a must - I’ll find out how often the magazine is “published”. Good work!
