Keyhole concrete skatepark in Munich, Germany!

Updated July 17th 2007: I got another mail in from Markus from Skate and Destroy explaining who is responsible for doing what at the site so I’ll update this article to get things straight. Markus is a writer for the site which is run by Axel Torschmied who currently lives up in Götheburg, Sweden.
The Keyhole skatepark was designed by Markus and the skatepark company bowlconstruction AG, a company situated right on the border between Germany and Switzerland (it’s a small world - one of their ex-workers / designers is a good skater friend of mine from way back in the old days, Ralf “Pogo” Vogt. He helped me to learn halfpipe skating when I was 13 years old, so around 20 years ago *grin*). Markus was the guy behind the scenes who worked with the city council to make sure that the park was something skateable -well, damn good job I’d say!
And what a good looking park this is! Believe or not, it’s located in the bratwurst and beer capital of Germany - in Munich. Markus from Skate and Destroy has been following the construction of the skatepark all along on the website and he kindly let us use his pictures of this amazing looking bowls. The offical opening of the park is on August 27th but already skaters are ripping through it.

I’ll be checking into flights or catching a train down there to have a weekend session sometime soon - it’s too good to be true! Here’s the complete address and a look at the park in Google Maps:
Feldmochinger Strasse/Georg-Zech-Allee, in Feldmoching/Munich, Germany - if you want to skate the park I’d suggest getting to Munich (wow, how smart I am!) and contact Markus at the Skate and Destroy website (linked above).
