    Curb Surfers

Picking my way through the Net and since yesterday I’ve been “stuck” in England catching up on the events and happenings in the scene. And I found a real goodie just today, amazed again about how long it takes to find quality video productions or companies which have been out there for a while already! Curb Surfers is the video production arm of Casual Skateboarding out of Maidstone, England - a skater-run company with boards and serve printed clothing.

Their product line comes with a wide range of decks from 7.5 to 8.0 width with some slick designs, would be nice to get our hands on a board for a test run ( some day, just some day….) and some cool looking t-shirts and hoodies as well so take a look over at their online shop to find out more.

And these guys are not “only” talented in creating a skateboard company, they damn well have it going for them on the video production front as well. This is where Curb Surfers come in to play. Just to keep it simple, I grabbed what they wrote about themselves off their site:

“Curb Surfers launched April 23nd (Memo: 2006 I guess, but I’ll be asking them directly!) for it’s first season on Sky Channel 146, Sumo TV. The first season has a scheduled 6 episode run, with each new episode airing on Monday at 9pm. Repeats can be seen at the same time on Tuesday and Wednesday. The premise of Curb Surfers is to document what is going on in the UK skate scene. The production team are on the road every week, filming competitions, shop profiles, interviews, skate park openings and scene edits to document how the UK skate is developing. A large emphasis is also placed on encouraging user generated content to help aid and build a picture of what is going on around the country.

The show is currently produced by Hot Knees Productions for Sumo TV. Hot Knees Productions comprises of James Holman, Producer/Editor/Cameraman; Alex Pasquini, Producer/ Editor/Cameraman; Ben Hay, Photographer/Assistant Producer; Joe Whitehouse, Graphics; Thom Holman, Graphics/Web design.”

Yeah, and they do a good job at it. The videos are well filmed and produced, showing skaters, demos, spots and more in a very entertaining fashion. The good thing is that I missed the entire first season with 6 episodes so I’ll be diving into the material later this weekend! And that’s not all, the new episodes are coming out with Episode 1, Season 2 already available over at Mpora Premium TV, just click here! So, to keep up with what is happening over on the big island, get a look at these videos, class stuff!
