Some contests seem to have just gone past my noticing in the past few years. I do have to admit that i have been looking out for vert and bowl contests more. Skating, walking, riding – however you choose to get through a city, you can quite often find yourself staring at different pieces of architecture, stairways, rails, benches etc. and thinking of how you would try a certain trick on it. These objects are already integrated in the world around us – we take them for granted even though we are happy to see them there, waiting for us to skate them. I received a link from an Italian web blog about how Quilsilver integrated advertising and real skateable objects into the architecture in Copenhagen. This is a dream come true, nothing less than that for the skaters in Antwerpen, Belgium and the rest of Europe to be honest! Team Pain came, built and conquered the earth they put their hands and machines on with a mixture of metal and concrete formed as usual incredibly. There’s a fullpipe with a closed end at this place! Maybe everybody reading this says ’so what’ but after being around skateboards and skating myself for 30 years I’ll see one for the first time face to face really soon!!! Rick McCrank gets new éS shoe and stars in a podcast

Rick McCrank’s new éS pro model shoe, the Avers has received another new look and this time through a collaboration with Girl Skateboards which presents the Girl logo on the side panel and a repeated éS and Girl logo pattern on the footbed. The entire shoe was said to be inspired by his good friend and graffiti artist, Lee Matasi (RIP). It’s a good looking shoe (well talk about being impersonal here!) if you like to brownish/orange look. The Avers is also available 4 other color series.

Over on the éS website you can reach by clicking right on this unbelievable internet link of death a nice iPod friendly (so small video size) video about the éS Shoes a la Carte Tour back in July 2007 is up and ready for you to suck into your brain. Team riders Rick McCrank, Justin Eldridge, Danny Garcia, Bobby Worrest and Silas Baxter-Neal skate through Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Poland, where they visited the town of Czestochawa to shoot an ad for Rick and visit Take éS to Your Spots! contest winner Lukasz Winter. Great clip to watch to make sure you don’t miss it!
