The Raise The Dead video contest final results are in!

That’s right, after a long night of drinking, viewing and deliberation we have come to a decision on the results of the first Europeskate “Raise The Dead” skateboard video contest! The competition was tough and we did enjoy watching what you put together for us. And next time, tell your friends to add their comments! That was definitely in the judging criteria. So no further talking, dive in to see who won!
Participants in the contest were suppossed to create their own video, 2 minutes or less in length, no larger than 10 MB of themselves or friends skating. The sky was the limit with the video editing/production/music integration as long as everything was your own work (okay, we sort of closed our eyes for one video with Ugly Duckling music but they actually wrote back to say we could use it!)
The videos were judged by the following criteria:
- video and filming quality
- the level of skateboarding
- innovative spots and skating
- the ratings on the Mpora video platform
- user comments here on Europeskate
- and our own personal judgement!
and here are the results:
1st place: Dave Ford (great stuff, well done Dave!)
2nd place: Gus King (look out for this ripper, 11 years old!)
3rd place: Tim Oberhausen (you’ll have to get your friends some drinks *hehe*)
4th place: Simon Trigell (love those freestyle tricks and boneless one variations - oldest skater prize!)
5th place: Francisco Lima (good skating, nice spots)

and an “honorable mention” to Niall Behan and Sam Watkiss, thanks for entering the contest as well!

We’ll be contacting the winners for their exact addresses to be able to send out the prizes, thanks for all of your contributions and look out for the next contests coming soon here at Europeskate!

I couldn\’t agree even more… Big props for Dave Ford, wich along with Tim Oberhausen had the best edition and filming for the videos. Gus King is a young ripper indeed! My favourite one (altough not being the best edition and stuff) was Simon Trigell, there\’s a huge trick\’s creavity right there pal i liked it pretty much… Congratulations to you all!

Hey Niall, sorry that you are so mad about our decision but the competition was based on ALL factors involved, not just the skating. Your skating is really good so don’t get us wrong on that.
And the honorable mention doesn’t mean you didn’t win anything. Send us your complete address and t-shirt size man and next time win or lose with some honor - there’s no need to put anybody down for their skating or do you disagree?
Cheers,
