Flensburg, Germany concrete skatepark coming again nicely!
December 28th, 2007 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young
Okay, this is my last quick post before I have to get on the bus to the Nizza airport and leave the beautifully warm and sunny south of France to fly on back to the cold and rainy Hamburg this afternoon *cry*…but when I take a look at how the Flensburg concrete skatepark from Bowl Constructions just an hours drive away from Hamburg is taking shape in this video, my grin is returning! See you guys in the Hamburg skatepark tonight.

…and this Lakai Full Flared video will never get enough coverage for me. It’s an insightful look into what went on behind the scenes and lets us all understand just a little bit more how much hard work, time and sweat goes into making a good skateboard video. Sure, having a few bucks in the bank helps as well! Get over to Skateperception and have a read about what Ty Evans has to say.

Axion Footwear coming back from the dead?
December 24th, 2007 / 19 Comments » / by Jonathan Young

This piece of skateboard industry news floated into my inbox a couple of days ago but I wasn’t sure if it was just a joke. It seems that the skateboard shoe company Axion Footwear which was a leader back in the 90’s with Kareem Campbell as the backing figure pushing the brand to the top will be trying to make a comeback next year. Four Star Distribution is the company behind the scenes which is trying to support it’s worldwide growth and dedication to the “action sport community” – I really don’t like the “action sport” wording. What else is sport unless you are talking about chess or curling?

Hold Tight London Volume 3 from the The Big Smoke Collection
December 23rd, 2007 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Somehow I missed putting this video up. The Big Smoke Collective is a convergence of two of London’s skateboard crews. The 3L crew hooked up with The Concrete Poets on the internet, along with the many other London personalities involved in The Slam City Video. The Big Smoke’s two main filmers Morph and Henry both worked on the Slam City Skates video along with Dan Magee and Ben Dominguez. The following video footage is the third in an ongoing series of videos out of London. Sit back and enjoy!
Keep up-to-date right at the Big Smoke Collective website which update pretty often!
Christmas skateboard jam December 30th in Stockport, UK
December 22nd, 2007 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

The Christmas contests seem to want to celebrate skateboarding all the way into next year it seems which is not the worst way to end the year. UK Skate is holding a skateboard jam contest at the former Bones skatepark in Stockport, England. So far they have the following prizes:
about 30 decks from Element, Toy Machine, Distance & Euff. £50 Distance voucher, Etnies shoes voucher, Es shoes voucher, Altamont hoodies, Es and Emerica hats and tees. Trucks, bearings, wheels, stickers, posters… and there’s still Vans, Indy, Hubba, Note and a few more to send stuff.
Note and Distance will be sending some of their skate teams down. Because the event is for free, I would get down there to have a blast and win some stuff on top!
