King of S.K.A.T.E – Round 8 – new trick

June 30th, 2008 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

New trick, new week, here’s the news straight off the contest site. 447 participants are left in the contest. Like I have said before, you can’t enter to win the prize money but it sure is a good site to practice some new tricks so have a look right here:

Round 8 – finally! For weeks we are looking forward for this week and first of all for this trick. Skippy sets up for Emerica: NOLLIE KICKFLIP ONE FOOT LANDED – you´ll learn to love or to hate it. To reach the next round you have to roll out this trick for min. three board lengths on the front foot till it is controled. The week prize is a Emerica Package consisting shoes, tee and cap. Good Luck!

HellFest 08 skate rock n roll in France!

HellFest 08

I popped over the the Antiz Skateboards website today and there’s a good little post about the HellFest 08, a heavy metal festival in France, which took place June 20th till the 22nd in Clisson, France. With a massive line-up of bands (Slayer was there, so that would have been good enough for me…really now, loads of good bands were there!) the French metal fans were ready to get blasted away.

what a cool pool!

Not as if that was good enough. Vans and Carhartt hooked up with Matt Grabowski (Minus Skateboards) to build yet another very original looking pool landscape which resembled on the outside an old ship! Most of the Antiz team showed up as well as friends from the Yama Skateboards team. The whole weekend looked like it was a blast, what more do you want to have in life?

I knicked the picture off of the blog from L.B. Fotos so do this guy a favor and check them out there:

NUEU Ride With Us UK tour 2008

June 30th, 2008 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

After being such a success last year supposedly (I wasn’t there so I will have to take the word of mouth and believe it…) the next NUEU Ride With Us tour is taking place this year from July 21st till July 26th. They’ll be meeting up with you – if you want – at 11am on July 21st at The Works skatepark in Leeds and end up somewhere not being told at the moment.

All you need is transportation, money, a skateboard and somewhere to sleep. And probably a lot of solid nerves to go traveling with people you don’t know! Sounds like a lot of fun though so if you have the time, go and enjoy. I’d love to hear some first-hand details if someone is interested!

Independent 30th anniversary tour

The Independent Trucks team have been traveling through the United States since May 25th celebrating the 30th anniversary of the company and their great trucks. Over on the Thrasher site there are six pages of updates and great pictures documenting at least parts of this major tour. And of course there is an Independent tour blog.

Have a look, makes me want to jump in a car and just go driving.

Supra Footwear Fall 2008 products

Supra Footwear Fall 2008

More new shoes ready to slip over your weary feet, this time from the guys over at Supra Footwear. I personally haven’t had a pair of these yet and it would be pretty fun to try out the Skytop or Vaider releases to see how good they are to skate (even though I don’t like the look of those!). The Suprano or Vulk Lows are a bit more my style but as usual style is a personal concept so it’s up to you what you want to wear.

Check out the Supra Footwear website to have a look at all of the Fall 2008 shoes.
