Swiftfooted online mag release issue 007.08!
July 23rd, 2008 / 1 Comment » / by Jonathan Young

I’ve been following the Swiftfooted magazine out of Belgium for several issues now and as the saying goes: actions speak louder than words. In this case I would exchange ‘actions’ for ‘pictures’. Stefan Remes and his ‘team’ have put togetehr another great collection of photos and words which made me want to keep flipping the virtual pages of this Belgium mag.
This issue includes a report about the European Vans ‘Roll with us’ tour, then moves on to show some of an exposition called street life with some interesting art, throws in a couple of interviews with a Belgium artist and Bastien Marlin, a French skater who has been crossing the border a lot lately. With other odds and ends inbetween, the mag finishes off with some good photography…all in all, definitely worth spending the time to read and enjoy.

Danny Cerezini and the 19 tricks video
July 23rd, 2008 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Danny Cerezini has been travelling through Europe the past few weeks, just coming off the big win at the Copenhagen PRO contest, chilling a bit at the Mystic Cup in Prague and hitting the BRIGHT tradeshow in Frankfurt plus the so-called Ghetto-Spot in Frankfurt.
The relatively new German skateboard magazine ‘Place‘ sponsored several brand new marble ledges for the spot and Danny took them apart with 19 tricks (okay, I didn’t count them all, I just believed what Danny said…), check out his video right here. He’s hanging out in Barcelona at the moment and he is still keeping the blog going strong!

Etnies 15 minutes of Barcelona video bliss
July 22nd, 2008 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

These videos just keep getting better and better. “Old” and “new” skaters, new technology, ambitious video techniques and good spots all come together in this Etnies video documenting the Barcelona 2008 tour. And yes, it’s 15 minutes long so maybe you shouldn’t watch it during work – take the lunch break
– unless your boss is pretty cool that is….
Click on the pic below to make the jump to the video. There is also a hi-res download available.
Win a Kärleksgatan deck from Sweden!
July 22nd, 2008 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Kärleksgatan is a small skateboard oriented company out of the great city of Malmö, Sweden (yes, I admit it. I am jealous and I want to have a park like they do!) with currently have three different deck designs and a variety of nice t-shirts with a bit more than your usual skate logo/branded thing going for them.
Daniel from Kärleksgatan (which by the way means “love street” in Swedish – hmmm, need to ask about that one!) was kind enough to offer a free deck giveaway (32×8) here. And all you have to do is answer the following question:
What is on the design of the deck pictured above and below? Is it…
a) a bunch of girls
b) a bunch of bugs
c) a crate of beer
Send your correct answer by Friday, July 25th 2008 to Europeskate (go to the Contact Page by clicking here – www.europeskate.com/contact) with your full name and correct email address.
The winner will be chosen randomly and announced this weekend so take a couple of minutes and maybe you’ll get this nice deck!

Old school glass skate bowl video from the 70’s
July 22nd, 2008 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

I had video link sent to me from the current.com guys who once and a while send me links to skate videos which are a bit different than your ordinary skate video. This one sports a glass bowl from back in the seventies (yeah, I was there, were you?) which looks pretty much like a ton of fun to ride. It is a quite cool concept to put the entire bowl out of the ground, supported by steel and slanted at something like 30 degress. You even have to climb a ladder to get to the entry area and yes, it’s all see-thru!
Sure would be fun to ride one of these things – okay, I admit it. I may be from the 70’s but I never did see one of these things in person. Enjoy, I especially like the good old music background with the extended guitar solo…classic!
P-Rod and Shaun White win 2008 AST Dew Tour Cleveland stop
July 21st, 2008 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

This contest didn’t turn up on my skate radar until this morning – bad reporting Johnny! – but what the heck, it does have a pretty funny sponsor name ( The Right Guard Open ). For those of you who don’t know the brand, it’s a deodorant company in the States. Hmm, well you do sweat when you skate don’t you? Okay, I’ll shut up while I’m still ahead!!
- Get all of the infos, picture, maybe even videos over on the official AST Dew Tour site.
