Cancer Dust video – pure pool skating

Just looking at the skateanddestroy.de site and they have a post about an upcoming underground video about pool skating entitled “Cancer Dust”. I couldn’t find out much about it just yet but the trailer is damn good.
Josh – last name? – seems to be the guy behind the movie and here’s what he says on his MySpace page: “I like spending all my time skateboarding and hanging out at strip clubs. I like Skateboarding empty Swimming pools. I enjoy Real punk music, Aka GG ALLEN & THE DWARVES No candy ass power pop. I like to live my life to the fullest You can always make more money but you cant make more time…” – you can definitely see the stripper influence in the trailer…

The guys from Fat Punk Studio first caught my attention through Facebook when I was commenting on somebody’s picture and I saw a graphic from them on the page. Wow is what it made me say and I checked out the site after I realized they print decks as well.
I really think the graphics are spot on – crisp, clear and very recognizable ideas makes these works stand apart from the others. They are currently bringing out new stuff so if this your style direction, find out more about them and check their website:

Red Bull UK Manny Mania Finals this weekend

The Red Bull UK Manny Mania series final will be taking place this Saturday, October 25th, 2008 in London. All the stuff you need to know if you want to either take part or watch was sent to me so here’s the info and a video for you:

The London final is this Saturday, held at York Hall in Bethnal Green. It’s a cool old building which usually hosts boxing matches. It has gallery style seats all around the action, so no having to stand all day! Like all the others, the final is a free event, there will be stuff given away, and it will be followed by big party of some description… so head down!
London Final – Midday until 6/7pm, York Hall, Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green, London, E2 9PJ

Thinking ahead about Lakai’s The Final Flare release

Has Lakai run out of money? No, but to get The Final Flare video which is being released in stores the first week of December 2008, I’ve been told that you are going to have to pre-order in the local shop of your choice. And why? Well it’s been produced as a limited release so – yeah you got it – if you want the real thing and not wait for a YouTube “quality” movie, then get over to your local skate shop and let them know so they can do all the work and order it.
Danny Falla turns pro for 5boro

Back with some skater turned pro news – Danny Falla has just been moved up to the pro ranks for the 5boro team. Aftr skating with them for many years as an amateur he can prove his smooth skills with the best.
Danny skates for boroNYC, Adidas(flow),autobahn (flow), venture,mob grip(flow),Rival skateshop, Matix clothing(flow) and Rockstar bearings. Check out the video footage to see why he deserves the upgrade!

Young rippers in Denmark video trailer

Just stumbled across this link while clicking from site to site. Some guys from Denmark it seems (please tell me if I landed in the wrong country!) – Mads Christensen, Jonas Daater, Kern Handler and Dennis Gram – who have some good tricks up their sleeves. Looks like they are putting together a full video for 2009 so I hope to get in contact so they can keep us up-to-date with it all!

Carrying on with the collection of photography tips for beginners like myself, here are two interesting videos about how to use depth of field for your chosen subject. I thought it was a good idea to include two videos about the same subject just to hammer the principle into my/your head as this is a very powerful possibility for your shots!

Today I’ll be moving through my European list of companies, skater, videographers and more to pick up on the actual theme of the site which is of course Europe. Not that I’m going to stop talking about skateboarding around the world, but I have been slack on the European front…
So off to Spain to Alai Skateboards who are bringing out a new video in collaboration with erosion magazine called “Alaikit” – smart name and this team does have some damn good skaters. I’ll try to get my hands on this one..
