Slap Magazine – October 1992 issue online
January 31st, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Going back in history once again with the guys from SLAP Magazine as they continue to scan in those old issues of SLAP and put them up for us all online. This time around it is the October 1992 issue which shows the opinions of a mix of “normal” people about what they think of skateboarding. It is quite funny as it just hasn’t changed – only skateboarding has gone huge in the meantime.
Mix that up with the complete black and white layout, the fun of actually reading the ads as many companies just aren’t here anymore and realizing how hight the level of skating was already back in 1992. Click on the picture below to flip through the entire October 1992 SLAP Magazine issue – it’s another time traveling experience for some…
Julien Furones scores Rockers signature wheel
January 26th, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Julien Furones is an interesting character and one damn good skater. I was skating in the indoor park in Hamburg some time last year and he just turned up and shredded the park somehow…quietly. Sounds strange, but he didn’t put on any shows, just skated, slightly reserved and for hiomself. Maybe it was the language barrier but actions speak louder than words and it was pretty obvious for me that this guy has some serious skills.
Amazingly enough – wow, I can see when someone can really skate – I was right and now I know how good he really does skate. The Antiz Skateboard pro has now gone a step further and hooked up with the sound guys from Rockers Hardware to get his first pro signature wheels in 53mm size and 99a. Support him is all I can say or just buy them right here… And if you want to see why, check the video below…that’s why!

Dutch video mag: Tax Free #2
January 26th, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Another video blaster filled with street rippers is heading our way, this time it’s Tax Free Magazine with issue #2 out of Holland and yes, take the time to watch the trailer and you’ll see, Europe is packed with top skating skills as well. It’s starting to make me feel old god damn it! Everybody is flipping and whirling their boards over huge obstacles and down at least 7 or 8 steps it seems – and they make it look pretty good as well! Enjoy and good work from the Tax Free bros, keep it up!
Rupert Antoine joins the Gyppo Army
January 26th, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

The good thing about running your own website is that you can do what you want with it, write about what interests yourself and keep it real – I’ve been mailing and communicating with the guys from Gyppo Army for a while now and watching their skateboarding and the attitude that goes with it has made me a fan.
So for me it’s always good to bring an update about the team and just yesterday the news came in that a Rupert Antoine (no, I’ve never heard of him before, have you?) has joined the Gyppo Army ranks. Check out his video spot right here:

Merchandising and marketing go hand in hand and the guys from DLXSF sure have come up with an excellant graphical means to push their skaters and products through one platform: an interactive catalog packed with videos. Really smooth and as usually a few hours worth of material to look at so have fun instead of reading this boring post
