Skateboarding Around The World – Staple Magazine
December 21st, 2009 / 1 Comment » / by Jonathan Young

I keep on looking for new creative “points of interest” on the web daily as it just gets so easy to start repeating news from other sites and almost becoming a machine with a blog. Sometimes it’s good as Europeskate is certainly for myself a a spot to head to when I want to catch up on some skater I remember writing about, a skate spot somewhere in the world, just about anything dealing with skating that interests me and about doing this a few years, the stuff I’ve grown to know that you out there like to see and read about.
That’s also why I can still be more than just happy when I find new creative outputs on the web which I have never heard of before. Staple Magazine from Australia is a small print skateboard mag which continues to put already published issues online for all of us to enjoy and at the same time keeps the print editions going to the local skate shops – I still believe printed mags are much better than the web but at the same time the web allows me, you, everybody to actually even hear about the time and effort people around the world dedicate to pushing skateboarding – keep it alive! Aaron Rowe clip from the bogdump website

Okay, so there are tons of videos with skaters being promoted all over the internet so it’s pretty normal to come across a skater you never ever have heard of (especially if he or she lives half way around this planet and is not covered all over the media spectrum!) but Aaron Rowe is so smooth and perfect with the tricks AND on top of that he skates with speed that this is a must-see video.
The 2009 SLAM Deck Guide
April 27th, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

For me, it doesn’t matter really what graphics are the bottom of the board as long as the board itself suits my personal taste and feel for a board. But if I have a choice and you should usually, then I’d of course be picking that deck with graphics I like the most.
The good thing about skateboarding growing so big is that the amount of new board graphics and really quality design keeps growing as well. SLAM Skateboarding Magazine has put together a 2009 deck guide with a selection of decks for us to check out. Sure, it’s not all of them but it is good for a quick overview…Roger Skateboards and the ghost with a boner is absolutely a classic design. What an idea

Thanks to the Twitterverse (it can be useful sometimes when people aren’t telling us that they are parking their car right now…) and Sidewalk Skateboard Magazine I just found some video footage from the recent Wangl Tangl 2009 mini ramp contest in Austria with the doubles contest. Check out some of the crazy action right here…Chris Pfanner and Danger David, Ben Nordberg and Danny Wainwright, Jurgen Howarth and Phil Zwijsen, Andy Scott and Manhead and more!

Sponsor Corey Rose!
March 3rd, 2009 / 1 Comment » / by Jonathan Young

We get pretty many emails in here from skaters asking about getting free gear or if we can hook them up with sponsors. To be honest, it’s flattering that they come to Europeskate but most of them are not sponsor quality skaters.
Just yesterday a kid named Corey Rose sent in a mail with a link to a video so I checked it out. Man, this kid is only ten years old and watch what he’s already doing on his board! So team managers / companies: this kid lives in Australia and he rips. Get him some gear! Keep it up Corey, it’s skaters like you that make skateboarding great!
