JB Gillet - Gold Wheels Commercial

I used to ride my wheels for ages until changing them – and every time I was stupidly amazed at how smooth the new ride was. Some how it still happens to me but it sure is good that I change them more often! Check out JB Gillet in his latest Gold Wheels commercial and the wheels from the company. Read more…

Warriors Skateboards

Out of the depths of my mailbox I’ve grabbed another little goodie for you all – it’s an introduction video to the Warriors Skateboards team out of Lugano, Switzerland which is by the way a wonderful city to visit, summer or winter – Grüezi wohl! The team is made up by Gilles Gallicchio, Geri Hugo, Igor Fardin, Martino Cattaneo, Pero Jurkic, Kevin Blaser and the man behind it all Yari Copt. A fun looking team which seems to have a bunch of skills as well. Enjoy the intro video right here and check out the Warriors Skateboards website which is full of video parts from the individual riders as well.

P Rod and Ice Cube in the new Nike SB commercial

July 20th, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Skateboarding keeps moving up a step on the marketing ladder and the costs associated with making a buzz about the products involved. This time around Nike SB follows the celebrity route in this commercial which shows Paul Rodriguez skating through town to Ice Cube’s tune “Today Was a Good Day” and P Rod does put down several bangers in this one. Of course Ice Cube turning up at the end will put skateboarding even more into the limelight and most likely help to convince quite a few consumers to invest in P Rod’s third Nike shoe release.

Good, bad? Don’t know what to think yet – the video is very well produced so I’ll keep this post positive! Wondering when skateboarding will start getting shown like this over in Europe where skateboarding is still pretty much a kiddie’s “sport” for many.

Bob Burnquist feels the bubbles

Bob Burnquist feels the bubbles

That title sounds almost a bit kinky to me but when you see the video you’ll understand what I mean. Bob Burnquist hooked up with one of the best in the skateboard video business, Ty Evans, to work on an ad for Aero which is some sort of sugary-chocolate coated sweet.

Filmed at the Lake Cunningham Skate Park in San Jose, California, the advert features 50,000 brown balloons to represent the light chocolate feeling which were placed in the skate park and Bob got the chance to ride right through it. Have a look at the final ad – sure looks like a load of fun!
