Stalin Skate Jam 09 in Prague

The Mystic Cup 2009 is not taking place due to financial difficulties but that sure doesn’t mean that they can’t hold a contest! Here’s the info so if you happen to be able to be able to get to the Prague in the Czech Republic then here’s the info for you:

Saturday 27th June
Stalin Plaza, Prague, Czech
Prize money 20.000 CZK (it’s a little over 1,000 US dollars)

Street contest and best trick: start at 12.00 until 22.00

DJs: Orion, Mike Trafik, Robot
Bars and grill, free entry

After couple of years of danger that Stalin Plaza would be closed for skateboarding, the City of Prague is supporting this event and we are looking forward for skaters and friends to join this happening.

Lucky for me that I had such a good time at the crazy “Schlagermove” parade yesterday in Hamburg on one of the trucks with 70 other people, waving to the half a million spectators (!!!) out on the streets and getting slightly tipsy from all of the free drinks *hick*…I was in bed really early last night and ready for action at 7 this morning!

Santa Cruz EURO ENDURO Tour 2008

The next team tour announcement and this time from the Santa Cruz team which is going to hit the shores of Europe starting August 14th, 2008 in the Czech Republic, moving on to Germany, Switzerland, UK and then Russia during the EURO ENDURO Tour 2008.

The entire team will be on board including Emmanuel Guzman, Justin Strubing, Flo Marfaing, Alex Moul, Alex Carolino, Sid Melvin, Tommy Fynn, and new team member, Kris Vile. Expect some special guests to be along for the ride as well.

Mystic SK8 Cup 2008 in Prague this weekend

It seems like a lot of contest organizers have packed in their events into a frame of two to three weeks in Europe so it’s a very busy time for contest skaters at the moment.

From Friday 4th until Sunday 6th of July, the world’s top riders will compete for the record prize money of $50.000 in three main contests at the the Mystic Sk8 Cup 2008 (presented by Vans and Volcom by the way) – street, vert and bowl – in the beautiful city of Prague. Jereme Rogers, Terry Kennedy, Danilo Cerezini, Daniel Vieira, Austen Seaholm, Bastien Salabanzi, Paul Rodriguez, Milton Martinez, Bob Burnquist, Neil Hendrix, Marcelo Kosake, Sandro Dias, Evelien Bouilliart, Lin Z Adams and Lacey Baker have already confirmed their presence!

Here’s more of the important info straight out of the press release:

The contest is managed according to the rules of the World Cup Skateboarding office, which compiles the results and supplies the judges.

This year, we will again present our rich schedule of supporting events which will include live music performances, DJs, Subkultura art exhibition, grafitti wall, video projections of skateboarding films and various workshops. For the musit, we can mention the bands Vladimir 518, Sunshine, Apple Juice, Chilla Killerz, Czech Beatbox Allstarts, DJs Loutka, Robot, Trafik, Kuba Soulcheck and others.

On Saturday and Sunday, the event will be broadcasted live on-line on the official webpage www.mysticsk8cup.cz, where you can find further information including schedules and ticket sales.
