Skatepark Roundup With The Santa Cruz Team

Get your early morning skate dose with this video clip featuring the Santa Cruz team with the likes of Emmanuel Guzman, Eric Dressen, Justin Strubing, Sid Melvin and many more as they rip some excellent parks. Yet again though it’s mad to see how skaters are harrassed by the police EVEN when they’re in a skatepark skating…I still couldn’t quite understand how high the fine was for that one kid who wasn’t wearing his pads properly or something stupid like that. Was it 450 dollars that he said??? Even 4 dollars would be way too much. Well, not exactly something new in the States, just so ridiculous. Enjoy the video!

Biometric entry planned for California skate park!

Things are definitely getting out of hand when you start reading articles like this – the City of Poway in California is going to introduce biometric scans of skaters thumbs to allow or disallow entry into the skate park. One thing is making sure vandalism, bullying and disregard of certain rules don’t take place, but making a skate park look like you are trying to travel overseas and you are getting on a plane? What do you think about it – leave a comment, I want to know! Read more…

The city of Belfast in Ireland are gearing up to build what looks to be a great skatepark – watch the CAD impressions of what’s going to be built. With a smooth looking bowl shape and extended street possibilities under a bridge, looks like Belfast is going to have a nice winter season ahead!

The Berrics sure know how to stay in the news and keep the media rolling with the next new Battle Commander, Kerry Getz. Check out the video right here. Kerry rides for Habitat Skateboards, DVS Footwear, Nocturnal Skateshop, Royal Trucks and Mob Griptape by the way (correct me if I got anything wrong here…)

Battle At The Berrics 2 - choose the skaters!

The Battle At The Berrics contest series was probably one of the most watched online skate videos ever – I’m just guessing but the entire concept is attracting so much attention and I never would have guessed that I would catch myself watching skaters doing flatland tricks. But I was and that’s why this news about the second round of the Battle At The Berrics is even cooler.

We all get the chance to send in our suggestion for the skaters for this new round. The list is huge but I’m going to check out and post my choice this weekend as well. Click on the list to get over to the Berrics site…

the choice is yours for the next Berrics Battle

The Santa Clarita skatepark opens!

The Santa Clarita skatepark opens!

Just last Thursday while I was looking through new sites on the Net for some of the latest in skateboard stories, I came across a video introducing the builders behind the brand new Santa Clarita skate park in California. Talk about perfect timing – the 40,000 square foot park just opened yesterday and just before the official opening Shuriken Shannon, JT Aultz, Marius Syvanen, P Kid, Mike Fitz, Aaron Snyder, and Mike Franklin got special treatment and were allowed in for a VIP session.

This park looks like a lot of fun!

Can an indoor skate park be any bigger?

Can an indoor skate park be any bigger?

Just found this almost ridiculous video clip over on Transworld showing Corey Duffel, Brandon Biebel, Matt Miller, Blue, Taylor Bingaman, and more top skaters having a test session in the brand new EPIC skate park in Rocklin, California.

This park is first of all indoor – but once you watch the video you won’t believe it. It is just plain and simply huge! Definitely one for the list if you are heading for the States and like indoor parks – insane!

Ryan Sheckler’s private skatepark preview

Ryan Sheckler's private skatepark preview

Bigger, faster, wider – yet again, whatever one thinks about Ryan Sheckler and the direction he is taking skateboarding, the guy knows how to skate. With the quite obvious support of Red Bull, he’s got a private skatepark now which has several obstacles which are insanely large and yet another park which has almost uncountable possibilities…

Yes, we are allowed to be jealous even though I don’t even know how much I would be able to do in this park…have a look right here.
