Cologne is a major city in Germany which has a rich history of skateboarding. After the main skate spot at the Cologne Cathedral was basically made unskateable, the locals moved to a remote spot which had been skated over the years with a variety of very basic DIY obstacles that came and went or just disappeared on a regular basis.
After receiving support through local funding and with the help of Converse “Fix to Ride”, Cologne’s locals and the “Dom Skateboarding e.V.” foundation were able to create a beautiful DIY skatepark out of this rundown spot. Official opening session is September 28th! The video is all in German but still fun to watch and see a spot growing!
