Lakai Footwear got together some team members (Lucas Puig, Vincent Alvarez, JB Gillet, Jesus Fernandez, Danny Brady, Brian Londono, Sylvain Tognelli and Raven Tershy) and headed over to Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland from July 30th till August 8th. Crowds formed, parks and spots were ripped and Federico Vitetta put this piece of history on film.

Found this goodie this morning and it made me realize that I’ve been seriously neglecting a big part of my life and problem most of the readers of Europeskate – art. It’s on our boards, we skate over it, we wear designs and ideas and I know I love it. Imagine everything looking the same, nothing new…that’s where we would be without those creative minds who actually sit down, think something through and create their dream.

This Great Kook Attack took place earlier in August of this year on the “Magic Carpet Ride” statue in Cardiff By The Sea, California in the form of a 15-foot tall Great White shark made out of paper maché. Enjoy the video and keep those ideas coming – I love this!

I obviously wasn’t at the first ever Street League event this past weekend in Glendale, Arizona, USA – a bit too far for me to sit down with 6500 spectators (uh oh, don’t like that word with skateboarding but that’s another discussion). Sure, the level of skateboarding is insane and it’s okay for me to see skaters earning some good money but $150,000 bucks for one contest??? A bit over the top for me but that’s just my opinion….the next two events take place on September 11th and 25th.

Yet again though it’s mad to see how skaters are harrassed by the police EVEN when they’re in a skatepark skating…I still couldn’t quite understand how high the fine was for that one kid who wasn’t wearing his pads properly or something stupid like that. Was it 450 dollars that he said??? Even 4 dollars would be way too much. Well, not exactly something new in the States, just so ridiculous. Enjoy the video!
