Maloof Money Cup 2010 Spreads To New York City

The Maloof Money Cup 2010 will be held in New York City and Costa Mesa, California this year.

First off, thanks to Robert Brink (check out robbrink.com), I used one of your photos for the title, hope that’s okay! The Maloof Money Cup will be held in New York June 5-6 at Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, featuring street skateboarding competition.

The Maloof Money Cup will return to Southern California for the third straight year, featuring street and vert competition, from Aug. 4-8 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

The 2008 and 2009 three-day festivals took place at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California, during the opening weekend of the Orange County Fair. The Maloof Money Cup 2008 boasted the largest purse in the history of professional skateboarding with more than $450,000 in prize money awarded in three professional U.S. Championship Competitions

– Men’s and Women’s Pro Street,
– Men’s Pro Vert and the
– U.S. Amateur Championships.

And that’s not all folks – they are going to donate the $1.8mm course they’re building for the contest at Flushing Meadows to the city of New York! Great move from the organizers! There are also plans to have a this competition over in South Africa as well in 2011. What’s up with Europe??? We’ll see. The future is looking good.
