Berrics Unified – Divided Opinions And Steve Berras Video
November 23rd, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Wow, thought I was just going to lay back, read a book or watch a video now but as I was finishing reading up the latest mails, rss feeds and tweets my attention was caught by a full-on “discussion” / dissing which has arisen recently (well, 5 days ago!), started by the Berrics Unified program and Steve Berra’s video – to be honest this video does have a lot of good points and facts which do address the problems with skateboarding, small businesses and the big businesses’ ability to crush them with their financial power.
BUT – around 1:50 into the video the sentence with “the important skate shops” drops and that’s mostly what has started a landslide of so-called pro and con Berrrics supporters lashing out at each other. The most interesting comments for me are Steve Miller from the Exit Skate Shop in Philadephia and Steve Berra himself who have really given each other a virtual whopping over on Twitter – most of the posts have been deleted though, but you can read up on the story over on the Haveboard.com website – me being an outsider, this is hilarious. But I’ve seen similar situations arise in the past and it’s just sucks to see all of this dissing going on in the skateboard scene. At the same time though I can understand a shop owner wondering why they are not important unless they join a system and pay…
Well, hope this gets solved somehow for all involved – watch the video and make your own opinion, even better add your comment here!

August 3rd, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young
Yes, I haven’t been pushing the Battle at the Berrics 2 lately and I’m quite sure that most of you following the action can easily type in Berrics in Google and get to the site. Nevertheless I do want to keep myself and the trusty readers of Europeskate up-to-date with what is going on.
The skaters in the second up till now are: Chris Cole, Dennis Busenitz, Rick Howard, Peter Ramondetta, Mark Appleyard, Torey Pudwill, Gilbert Crockett, Jerry Hsu, Paul Rodriguez, Josiah Gatlyn and Cory Kennedy. And who won the latest Battle between the Lizard King and Heith Kichart? Take a look right here to see…

The videos keep on flowing…
July 26th, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young
I always enjoy starting the day off with with new (or old) skateboard videos and the web sure has more than it’s fair share of those. I’ve started using the top space of the site to show off the latest videos and this WILL be a daily update – just needed to get in the flow here. So here are the last three videos that were featured before this morning’s update:
- 10 tricks with Chad Bartie
- Creature Skateboards welcomes Sean Conover
- European Skateboard Championships 2009 intro video
And of course there are three new goodies for this Sunday morning just waiting for for you watch. Right Foot Forward is the latest video effort out of the Transworld Skateboarding media box – here’s a YouTube preview of Matt Beach’s part with loads of smooth and fast skating – watch it here!
Next one up is the never-stopping Mike Vallely who makes it to the rank Battle Commander without 20,000 kickflip variations – yes, I like it and respect for the man. Enjoy watching some creative skateboarding. This is what skating is about for me – not looking the same. Watch it right here…
And last but not least I just had to show you again Bucky Lasek’s backyard killer bowl – this is just insane and at the same time fantastic – enjoy watching this bowl right here.
