This skateboard contest wasn’t on our list here but with UK teams from over twenty stores signing up to take part in this year’s Vans Shop Riot contest, some mad action was going to have to come together.

And that did happen, the level of skating is yet again mind-boggling! Check out some of the action with riders from Lost Art, Switch, Note, Subvert, Division 24, Endemic, Prime, Exist, Freestyle, Route One, Fifty-Fifty and more!

It is one of those mornings when I’m sitting in front of my laptop sipping my coffee while getting the latest skateboarding news together for the day and I have to come up with a title for the post – as you can see it wasn’t my best day with this title as it turned out a bit large

Whatever, the news is the important bit and the German Club Of Skaters skateboard championship series continues tomorrow, July 23rd until the 25th 2010 at the splash! festival in Gräfenhainichen, Germany. Man, what a name for a town and I have been living in Germany for a long time so I am used to the names but Gräfenhainichen is really one of the best to date *hehe*.

Back to business though: during this well known hip-hop festival (Wu-Tang Clan is in there as well!) the top street skaters from around Germany will be battling it out for points for the German championship series on the course being built specially for the contest by Andreas “Schützi” Schützenberger von IOU Ramps.

Must have been incredibly hot in the skatepark in Amsterdam this weekend during the Volcom Amsterdamn Am 2010 contest and not just because of the mad carnage of tricks being blasted out. After all is said and done, here are the final results with Alec Majurus coming out on top!

Get in the action with the live webcast straight out of Amsterdam, Holland of The Volcom Amsterdamn Am 2010! The finals are right now!

This upcoming weekend the fifth annual Volcom Stone AmsterDamn Am 2010 amateur street skateboarding competition returns to Amsterdam Skatepark (July 9, 10 and 11). With an overall purse of 15,000 euros, those on site will definitely witness some of the finest amateur skateboarders in the world battle it out and don’t miss the infamous Amsterdamn Am party with Nihilist back from the grave.

So that was the official statement slightly edited by myself – with up to 100 skaters battling it out, the top amateur skaters will be flocking to Amsterdam for a weekend of fun. If you can’t make it like myself (I even have a real excuse this time with my baby just being born…) then head over to the Volcom Europe website for the live webcast starting Saturday and Sunday at 1 pm GMT.

As last year, first and second place win plane tickets to Tampa Am 2011 in Tampa, Florida, USA, and are seeded directly into the semifinals. The top 12 placings will be qualified for Tampa Am 2011. The winner will also win a return plane ticket to Amsterdam Am in 2011.

The Mystic Cup 2010 which took place this past weekend (July 2-4, 2010) in Prague, Czech Republic was yet again able to show the world that top skateboard events are still taking place in Europe which are able to attract big crowds, great skaters and at the same time keep the contest the way it should be – down to earth and packed with fun.

The action at the brand new skate park in the Corona Park in Queens, New York kicked off yesterday with the practice sessions and the contest is on right as I’m typing this in. This weekend (June 5th – 6th 2010) $250,000 in cash and prizes are up for grabs (I’ve read different amounts for the total in cash – put it this way, it’s a huge amount of money!) in the Volcom Street Pro and the World Industries Amateur Championship and additionally the world’s top pro skaters will also compete in the Tech Deck “Best Trick” contest for their shot at a $10,000 cash prize.

Berlin, Germany was the target of skaters around Europe just this past weekend as the Skatehalle Berlin hosted along with Relentless Energy the Clash 2010 street and bowl contest. Some of the top names from the past weren’t present this year ( Jürgen Horrwarth, Dennis Busenitz and last year’s winner Bastien Salabanzi ) but the list of skaters particpating still had it’s share of top names including tech wizard Chris Haslam, Tom Penny, new Flip amateur Andrew Langi, Vince del Valle, Yannick Schall, Thomas Weber, Alex Mizurov, Lem Vilemin, the man of the moment Youness Amrani and one of my personal favorites out my town of Hamburg: Michi van Fintel.

After all of the madness of a contest weekend with the crash-inflicted injuries, last year’s third place holder Thomas Weber came out on top of the street contest. Check out the results right here push the video clips from this weekend!

Updated May 30th 2010! A few changes to the schedule so check out what has changed…the Copenhagen Pro skateboard contest series hits it’s fourth year with more side events than ever before!

THe CPH Pro has grown into Europe’s largest pro skateboard contest in just four years, helped a lot through the many years of experience from the SpoTlight Productions team. This year is looking even better (and yep, I’ll even miss this one but for a great cause – my child is being born right about then!) as it’s packed with events throughout the week before the actual contest including a ride at the new concrete skatepark in town. THRASHER’S BURNING OF THE WITCH
What: Thrasher Magazine and Volcom will present a hammer session contest event in Copenhagen featuring an 8,000 dollar cash prize, a double set, a flaming Volcom stone, and a treacherous leap of doom. This event is being hosted by Jake Phelps.
