After a few days off to gather some needed rest and energy, the Pic Of The Day series continues with this massive ollie caught on film by Kyle van Emmerik with a Nikon D60. I like the simple composition, the spot which could be any street corner anywhere and once again the execution of the basic and most important trick of them all – an ollie!

Sometimes I wish I lived in a place where it’s always warm and everybody has (empty) swimming pools – man, seems to be my dream day. Here’s the latest Europeskate Pic Of The Day with a nice frontside air in an evener nicer looking backyard pool.
“Pink Crack” on Flickr put this picture up on his gallery and the skater is one Jeese Davis. UPDATED December 28th 2009: and here’s the link to the cool website Pink Crack!

As it was most likely quite easy to see in advance that I wasn’t going to pull through an entire month with one Pic Of The Day, this “experiment” has also been good for me to see how I am going to continue pushing the skateboard photography section in 2010. I’m looking forward to the many mails with new pictures, skaters and impressions from around the world. Keep sending them in!
Today’s Pic Of The Day comes from Kristijan Smok and it was taken in Zagreb, Croatia on a ferry (nice idea!) by one Michel Kubaček doing a 50-50 grind. The shot was made with a Canon 400d with a Sigma 10mm at F2.8 and a flash from the left side.

Ending the week of regular work with a new Europeskate Pic Of The Day that puts together several parts of skateboarding in one shot which makes this capture that much better than a snapshot. This skater was caught on film by Jeanclaudephoto.com at the Venice Skate Park in the middle of a simple backside kickturn/grind with a nosegrab and his face tells a lot more – this guy is enjoying every second!

New Pic Of The Day on the site from Daniele Marzocchi (check out his Flickr account right here..) which captures a sunny day and the flying skills of one Gilberto Cannarozzi who is about to slap down a switch heelflip on what turns out to a landing which goes slightly uphill and is not that smooth. The picture and the skills are more than smooth that’s for sure. The shot was made with a Tokina 10-17 mm lense on a Canon 400d camera.

And yet again I didn’t make it – missed out yesterday with the Pic Of The Day but it was due to higher powers – my laptop was messed up – but I’ve got other possibilities. Today’s picture was taken by Renato Custodio featuring Fabio Cristiano doing a frontside blunt, even the address was included so you can hit the spot as well: Av. 9 de Julho, Centro in São Paulo, Brazil.
Great framing of the skater and the action here and I love the lighting as well. Renato has a bunch of other good shots in his gallery and you’ll see that he has had his work shown in quite a few magazines.

Not missing out on a day yet in December with the Pic Of The Day series and I have another nice shot for you: this one was taken by Phil Blair (check out his photo gallery…) featuring Matt Zwiesler doing a frontside ollie in – as Phil puts it and I must agree – the coolest backyard in Orange County. What a dream, imagine having that behind your house!

I just love pools and bowls so it’s no wonder that this incredible shot from Clément Le Gall (check out his photo gallery…) featuring Jeremy Hughes doing a frontside salad crail – no extra infos to this pic but I’m trying to contact him about how he took the shot.

10 days in a row – now that’s my own personal record for the Pic Of The Day photo series! Keeping it simple but the effect of today’s picture works just as well, here’s a perfectly caught indy grab hip air in a good looking bowl carried out by Roberto Bordetas. The man behind the lense is one “jopez _fotografia” on Flickr, check out his gallery right here!

Not much outdoor skating going on here in Hamburg at the moment other than under a bridge or in a parking garage. But the Pic Of The Day for November 9th taken by Rob Collins captures a great hardflip in action – executed with style by one Jay Johnson. The picture was taken with a Nikon D40 with 1/640 exposure, an f/4.5 aperture and a 10.5 mm focal length.

Back in the Europeskate HQ after tons of work flooded over at my day job – still hope to get some vert skating in later tonight but that’s all hopeful wishing.
What’s real is the latest Pic Of The Day taken by Bruno Mendes with one Diego Rett popping a massive ollie over a construction site barrier – damn that’s huge! The shot was created with a Canon EOS 20D – nice one!
