One Man Dusk Mini-Ramp Session In Finland

One Man Dusk Mini-Ramp Session In Finland

Found this video of a one-man mini ramp session featuring “johnny aka 270 Maffia” out of Finland ripping a mini-ramp during the oncoming darkness – I like the feeling that the video conveys, being alone at a ramp, trying out some tricks, just happy the ramp isn’t wet from the general cold and damp autumn weather. Here’s his description of the action that went on:

“Few weeks ago I had slow day at work so I left early to skate the nearby miniramp before it got too dark. Temperature was about 0°C and there was thick fog hanging around. Weirdly the miniramp was dry enough to skate.
I had my Panasonic Lumix LX3 with me so I tried the HDvideo function while I skated. I didn’t have a tripod with me so I placed camera where ever it could stay still.
This version is a color graded (with magic bullet looks) and animated (frame movement). Mostly an experiment with MBL and moving frame compared to static.”

How To Build a Mini Ramp With Billy Rohan - Episode 1 of 3

I’ve always wanted to have my own ramp but I haven’t had a place to build one yet – some day though I’ll make that dream come true and Billy Rohan plus a few friends take us through the steps of building one in this well produced 3 part video. Some of you will probably be thinking that it’s all logical – sure – but it is definitely perfect to make sure you avoid some basic mistakes which will result in a bad construction. I’ll be posting the following 2 parts of the series as soon as they hit the web!

Crossfire Halloween Massacre 2009 Skate And Party Video Clips

The guys over at Caught In The Crossfire have been mixing up the skate and music scene for quite a bit and unlucky for me, I have not once made it over to one of the mad party events which they hold on a regular basis. Excuses galore (family, work, money – you name it, I have the excuse) but for those of you who are stuck in the same predicament as I am – not making it – well, lucky us, we can at least watch others having fun and shredding the mini ramp to bits a few days later!

Want to see some of the actual party action? Read more…

Enjoy and get out there…
