Here We Are Again – Big Push 2010

Back again (what, another year has already passed on by??) with the Big Push 2010. If you don’t know what this is then catch up right here with the words from the people running the contest and check out the video introduction plus last year’s winning video edit from the VANS team below.

“This year we have an extra team with I-Path joining last years six. We’ve also slimmed down the challenges and dropped the specific regions in favour of dividing the UK into North and South to give each team more time and space to simply go out skateboarding.
Each team is tasked with a variety of missions, including 10 obscure tricks for points, a possible three NBD tricks at famous spots in their assigned area (North or South) as well as a highest ollie competition, which will happen on the road.
As with last year, points accrued from completing the challenges set will count for half of each team’s individual score, with online voting accounting for the rest. Your votes will be added to these pre-existing scores to determine the overall winners – you are voting for your favourite edit – nothing else, so use your vote wisely.
The winning team of this year’s Big Push will score themselves £2000 prize money to share between the participants, as well as the cover of the Christmas mag and internet fame beyond compare.
The Big Push DVD will be cover-mounted on the October issue of Sidewalk, due out in shops on or around the 19th of October.
All the Big Push edits will be online from November 1st to allow those who haven’t seen the magazine to get involved in bigging up their favourite crew of shoe humans. Online voting will close on the 15th of November so don’t hang about.”

Nike SB The Bird Is The Word European Tour

The Nike SB tour with the fancy name “The Bird Is The Word” kicked off yesterday, June 3rd in London at the Bay66 park with heavy-hitters Paul Rodriguez, Wieger, Daryl Angel, Cory Kennedy, Ishod Wair, Youness Amrani, Korahn Gayle, Chris Jones, Neil Smith and Shane O’Neill. The tour continues to Paris, Eindhoven and Berlin where it ends at the Bright Trade Show. By the way: what’s the idea behind the name, anybody know? Write in and let us non-informed dummies understand…
Escape From The Bad Weather With Nike SB

Nike Skateboarding rounded up their Czech and Slovakian team members and headed out to Malaga to escape the winter this year. Along for the trip filled with skateboarding, sunshine and a bunchj of fun were Martin Pavlacic, Lukas Danek, Marek Zaprazny, Honza Minol, Tomas Weiman, Mato Kardelis and Nikolas Tusl. If I missed anybody, just let me know!

This Is Qatar – Spanish Nike SB Team Trailer By Enrique Mayor

More and more and more videos and I’m loving it. Enrique Mayor sent me this video link this morning, a teaser for the upcoming release in January 2010. The video documents the skaters from the Nike SB Spanish team on their trip earlier this year to Doha, Qatar which is a bit different than the usual tour to the next skate park. Enrique seems to have been around and as I’m usually bad at remembering names, I’ve probably seen something filmed by him before.
Sounds like time for an interview with somebody behind a video camera right? Let me see what i can do…while I’m at it, enjoy this well produced teaser, it just works on me and brings the good vibes straight home! Featuring skating from Daniel Rubio, Juan Algora, Daniel López De Ipiña, Adrián del Campo and Daniel Lebrón. Filmed by Enrique Mayor and David Moreda and produced by Iván Jiménez.
