Steve Berra And The Coca Cola Burn – Ride Video
August 2nd, 2010 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

This video clip has been receiving a lot of media coverage lately and it sure is well produced with a nice storyline behind it. I’m talking about the latest video promotion entitled “Ride” for Coca Cola’s energy drink “Burn” which was filmed by Los Angeles based Garth Davis and the skaters (Jesus Gonzalez, Eder Martinez, Mario Saenz, Angel Santiago and American Luis Tolentino), who were literally on fire, were coordinated in the video shot in Mexico City by LA-based Steve Berra, no introductions needed there!
Director: Garth Davis
Producer: Karen Sproul

DOP: Grieg Fraser

Berrics Unified – Divided Opinions And Steve Berras Video
November 23rd, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

Wow, thought I was just going to lay back, read a book or watch a video now but as I was finishing reading up the latest mails, rss feeds and tweets my attention was caught by a full-on “discussion” / dissing which has arisen recently (well, 5 days ago!), started by the Berrics Unified program and Steve Berra’s video – to be honest this video does have a lot of good points and facts which do address the problems with skateboarding, small businesses and the big businesses’ ability to crush them with their financial power.
BUT – around 1:50 into the video the sentence with “the important skate shops” drops and that’s mostly what has started a landslide of so-called pro and con Berrrics supporters lashing out at each other. The most interesting comments for me are Steve Miller from the Exit Skate Shop in Philadephia and Steve Berra himself who have really given each other a virtual whopping over on Twitter – most of the posts have been deleted though, but you can read up on the story over on the Haveboard.com website – me being an outsider, this is hilarious. But I’ve seen similar situations arise in the past and it’s just sucks to see all of this dissing going on in the skateboard scene. At the same time though I can understand a shop owner wondering why they are not important unless they join a system and pay…
Well, hope this gets solved somehow for all involved – watch the video and make your own opinion, even better add your comment here!

The Battle at the Berrics just finished up last week and you probably already know who won if you have been following along right here on Europeskate. A lot of the skating was better than good and to make sure you can spend a rainy day watching class skating, here’s THE ultimate collection of all of the battles which were carried out, enjoy!
The Battle At The Berrics final call!
March 4th, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

The Battle At The Berrics has finally come to an end after almost one year of flat skill testing and nail-biting drama – okay, let’s not overdue it with the descriptions but I guess you can agree with me on the fact that this was one of the funnest Game of SKATEs ever to watch. Sure did help with the names behind the game.
Check out the seminfinals and of course the finals video – oh darn, I’m going to do it again but it doesn’t really matter – Mike Mo was the winner of the contest and took home 10 grand in US currency. Is that really worth that much any more *hehe* ? Check out the videos right here:
The Battle At The Berrics continues!

This was one mad week at the Berrics with the Game of SKATE battle getting better and better. My personal favorite was the fight between P J Ladd and Eric Koston. More strange things went down as well but you will be able to see for yourself – just so that you know, Steve Berra had to give up!
Oh no, I gave it away *hehe*
Inside The Berrics video series
February 21st, 2009 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young

If you are into street or indoor park skating then you’ve most likely have seen some of the epic skate sessions or Games of SKATE that take place at the Berrics skatepark. Right now the Battle at the Berrics are putting the top skaters head to head against each other (more updates on that topic soon…) and it’s always great to watch the top pros ripping it. Just pure skateboarding.
Here’s a chance for you to get a closer look inside the Berrics in these four video parts:
The Battle At The Berrics continues…

I wasn’t too impressed at the beginning when the Berrics skatepark opened it’s doors to the internet community – another warehouse with obstacles owned by pro skaters. Okay, it can be fun to watch but you’ve seen real good skaters skating warehouses before haven’t you?
But I’m not into being negative and dissing stuff just to grab some attention for myself or the Europeskate site. That’s not why I like skateboarding, I respect anybody who puts in a lot of effort and sweat into doing something well, especially skateboard related stuff.
The Battle at the Berrics is a known concept for skaters but again, we all can watch when damn good riders go one on one against each other to see who makes it to the next round in this Game of S.K.A.T.E. And the rounds are top class – the latest rounds include Steve Berra vs Chris Roberts and Eric Koston vs Rob Dyrdek. I’m not saying who won: watch and enjoy the talent!
Theotis Beasley at the Berrics skatepark
July 3rd, 2008 / No Comments » / by Jonathan Young
Time to return to The Berric’s, Steve Berra’s and Eric Koston’s skatepark ( if you didn’t know yet
) and they have been busy as usual. Well what do you expect actually, them not skating their private park?? Of course not.
Their latest recruit, Theotis Beasley, has got some smart footage up on the site currently. He is one good tech skater, packing out loads of different flip, manual, 360 trick in the book and more on top with some of the most perfect and non-sketchy landings I’ve seen. A kid to watch – yet again. Ummmm, that’s probably why he’s the recruit of the day, right?
Find out more about Theotis in this interview over on the Active Ride Shop website and click on the picture below to watch his slick video part at The Berrics….and while you are at the site, check out the many other videos. Steve Berra is still ripping it very well is all I can say.
