Nyjah Huston Wins 150000 Dollars At First Street League Contest

I obviously wasn’t at the first ever Street League event this past weekend in Glendale, Arizona, USA – a bit too far for me to sit down with 6500 spectators (uh oh, don’t like that word with skateboarding but that’s another discussion). Sure, the level of skateboarding is insane and it’s okay for me to see skaters earning some good money but $150,000 bucks for one contest??? A bit over the top for me but that’s just my opinion….the next two events take place on September 11th and 25th.
1. Nyjah Huston 116 points 82% consistency $150,000
2. Shane O’Neill 114.9 points 79% consistency $80,000
3. Torey Pudwill 112.8 points 82% consistency $25,000
4. Sean Malto 111 points 86% consistency $10,000

The Maloof Money Cup 2010 in New York has left it’s impressions around the globe as one of the best street contests in a while (depends on your opinion and point of view obviously!) and of course the contest with the highest payout ever.
Our mate Thomas over on InterstateMag.com (check out their site and support them!) was there and kindly sent over some pictures for us to publish! Chris Cole Wins The New York Maloof Money Cup 2010

With down right insane skateboarding going down to the wire at the New York Maloof Money Cup 2010 and a tornado warning plus a downpour of rainfall just after the event finished, this year’s winner is yet again Chris Cole took the mad $100,000 dollar first prize landing a backside 270 lipslide on the 9-stair rail, a front blunt to fakie and a massive switch 360 flip plus uncountable other tricks.
Second place went to Paul Rodriguez with $40,000 prize money and Torey Pudwill who was on fire the entire weekend (also winning the Best Trick contest + $10,000) took third place with $25,000.

Battle At The Berrics 2 – The Semi-Final Videos!

I missed out on quite a few of the Berrics Battles in the last few weeks but now it’s semi-finals time so I’m back in there with the videos featuring Chris Cole vs Torey Pudwill and Cory Kennedy vs Paul Rodriguez.
A pretty moving tribute to a skater who had some serious medical problems was also mentioned with the kid himself and several other people who invested their time and energy into raising money for the him were shown – good luck with your eye surgery. And then I really wonder why so many people in the States are against reforming the health care system – a system that just plain sucks head. It works in Europe…whatever, enjoy the videos!

Matix Team visit the St Louis City Museum
